The librairie Amélie Sourget specialises in selling original literary editions as well as rare and precious books in the fields of the the history of ideas, history, economics, travel, science and more.
The bookstore is located in the area of Odéon, in the 6th district of Paris, the beating literary heart of the capital. In 1915, Adrienne Monnier founded her bookstore, La Maison des Amis des livres, in rue de l’Odéon where she would welcome Jules Romain, Louis Aragon, André Breton, André Gide, Paul Valéry and many others. It was also here that Sylvia Beach established her bookstore, Shakespeare and Company where she published Ulysse by James Joyce, in 1922.
